I have to admit, I am a compulsive baker! lol You know that feeling you get when you randomly start to crave a good ole fashioned chocolate chip cookie? One that is gooey, and chunky and soft with just the right amount of bite to it? Well here’s the perfect recipe !
Yields: 2 dozen cookies. Preheat oven on 350 degrees.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups ( or more) of semi sweet or milk chocolate chips
Directions: In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside. In a separate bowl combine butter softened, both sugars, and beat with a mixer on medium speed. Then add eggs and vanilla extract. Then combine wet ingredients with dry. Stir in the chocolate chips with a spoon.
Drop heaping tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheet. You can line your baking sheet with parchment paper, however I did not.
Bake until cookies are golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes. You can store the cookies in an air tight container for up to about a week. And ENJOY!
